The first national assembly of federated charitable agencies from cities throughout the nation will be in session tomorrow and Sunday at the Standard Club to map a program of organized Jewish philanthropy “according to the changing needs of the present day.” Felix M. Warburg heads a large group of New Yorkers in attendance at the conference.
Sol Kline, president of the Jewish Charities of Chicago, will officiate as chairman, and Leo F. Wormser will welcome the delegates. Sol M. Stroock, former president of the New York Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies, will deliver the principal address. Other speakers scheduled are Louis E. Kirstein, president of the Associated Jewish Philanthropics of Boston, M. Charney Vladeck, managing editor of The Jewish Daily Forward, and William J. Shroder, president of the Jewish Community Council of Cincinnati.
Afternoon sessions on Sunday were to concern themselves with the question of a nine-point program for the meeting and reports of various delegates will be made.
