A series of philanthropic events sponsored by local Jewish women’s organizations will mark the beginning of fall activities in the Jewish community.
The first of these is the merchandise mart and carnival which the senior Council of Jewish Women will give September 26 and 27 in the ballroom of the Eagles Club. Proceeds will go to the Home for Aged Jews.
Close to 100 booths will display the newest fashions, foods, furniture and various articles for the home. Plans also call for a for tune-telling booth, a tavern, dinners and dancing both evenings.
