Charles Jordan, general director of overseas operations of the Joint Distribution Committee, said today on his arrival here that the purpose of his visit was to look into the work of Latin American offices of the JDC.
He said that he would also examine Latin American programs of the Jewish Claims Conference. He reported that in visits to Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, and Chile, he had observed the programs of many Jewish institutions assisted by funds from the Claims Conference. As co-chairman of the International Committee for the World Refugee Year, he will contact non-governmental organizations here and will also talk with local United Nations officials.
