Charles J. Liebman, noted industrialist, who was active in the rescue of Jewish refugees from Nazi Germany, died in Mount Sinai Hospital at the age of 80.
A member of the board of the Joint Distribution Committee from 1939 to 1946, he was a former president of the Refugee Economic Corporation, formed in 1935 to resettle refugees from Hitler. He was a former member of the executive committee of the Palestine Economic Corporation and the Emergency Committee for Displaced Foreign Scholars.
