Charles Maurras, 76-year-old editor of “L’Action Francaise,” and long-time anti-Semite and royalist, was sentenced yesterday to solitary confinement for life. Maurras, who was a prominent spokesman for the Vichy Government, was convicted of betraying members of the resistance movement to the Gestapo and of collaborating with enemies of France. The court also stripped him of all civil rights and ordered confiscation of his property.
