The tomb of the Baal Shem Tob, the founder of Chassidism, located at Miedzboz, Ukraine, is now in danger of being destroyed, reports in the Jewish press in Russia state.
The cemetery is now being removed and the tombs around the chapel constructed over the grave of the Chassidic founder have been destroyed. The local Jewish community here is endeavoring to persuade the authorities to save the shrine held sacred by many Chassidic Jews throughout the world.
