Michel Chekhov, nephew of the great Russian playwright and short story writer, Anton Chekhov, arrives on the Lafayette today with a group of players formerly connected with the Moscow Art Theatre.
The group will begin on Saturday a season of repertory featuring modern Soviet plays and Russian classics at the Majestic Theatre.
Their appearance will mark the first time that Soviet plays are performed in this country by a troupe of Russian actors. S. Hurok is sponsoring the engagement.
