The tragic passing of the Hebrew poet laureate, Chaim Nachman Bialik, will be marked by a memorial meeting which will take place tomorrow at 8:00 p. m., at the Hotel La Salle. The program will include appropriate musical selections by Cantor Aaron Kritz and the Halevi Choral Society, and the reading of Bialik’s poetry by David Itkin, formerly of the Habimah. Dr. Meyer Waxman will read a “memorial scroll,” especially composed for the occasion and presented in behalf of Chicago Jewry. Eulogies will be delivered by Rabbi Solomon Goldman, Dr. Mordecai Katz and Dr. David Rebelsky. Rabbi Samuel M. Blumenfield will preside.
The memorial is being arranged under the auspices of the Histraduth Ivrith, in cooperation with the leading Zionist, cultural, religious and educational organizations of Chicago.
The day of the memorial has been declared a day of mourning in all the Hebrew and Yiddish schools of Chicago and vicinity.
