A Chicago commitee of the Jewish Congress has been formed to promote the work of the Congress in defense of Jewish rights.
The provisional officers of the executive council include Sigmund W. David, chairman; Mrs. Jennie F. Pruvin and Leo H. Lowitz, vice-chairmen; Rabbi Samuel Blumenfield, secretary; Nathan Raymer, treasurer; James J. Glassner, corresponding secretary, and William A. Nudleman, executive secretary.
The chairmen of the various committees are: Mrs. Jennie F. Purvin, representation; Robart L. Huttner, membership; Joshua B. Glasser, publicity; James J. Glassner, cooperation, an Samuel Laud, boycott.
This month a large mass meeting will be held at which the purposes of the American Jewish Congress will be explained to the Jewish people here. At this meeting proper machinery for securing adequate representation from all sections of Chicago Jewry will be created.
