Joel David Wolfsohn, well known Chicago newspaperman who has specialized in political reporting, was named assistant to K. L. Ames Jr., director of Finance of the state of Illinois.
Mr. Wolfsohn has taken up his duties in Springfield. He resigned from the staff of the Chicago Herald Examiner to accept the appointment. Previously Mr. Wolfsohn was for eight years a member of the now-extinet Chicago Evening Post. At the time of the Post’s demise Mr. Wolfsohn was city editor. He was formerly publisher of the paper. He is a member of the Illinois bar, is active in Jewish communal affairs and secretary of the Zionist Organization of Chicago.
