The celebration of Jewish Book Week will be observed here on Thursday evening at a literary evening sponsored jointly by the Herman Schur Reference Library of the Jewish People’s Institute and the Stephen A. Douglas Branch Library.
Dr. Philip L. Seman, general director of the Jewish People’s Institute, will be chairman of the meeting. Greetings from the Chicago Public Library will be given by Mrs. Jennie Purvin, member of the board of directors of that body. The address of the evening is to be delivered by Dr. Hyman Cohen, author of “The Tents of Jacob,” and co-author of “Aron Traum.”
