Five thousand Zionists are expected in Chicago the first week of July to attend the thirty-fifth annual convention of the Zionist Organization of America. The convention will be held at the Palmer House.

Chicago was selected by the national Zionist organization because of the Century of Progress exposition and more particularly because of Jewish Day which will be observed at the World’s Fair July third. The outstanding event of Jewish Day will be a pageant, “Romance of a People”, to be presented in Soldier Field on Chicago’s lake front the evening of July third.

The Zionist administration has designated Max Shulman chairman of the committee on arrangements for the convention. Sessions will be held July first, second, third and fourth and the annual dinner will be held on that day.

Dr. Chaim Weizmann, world chief of the Zionists, is going to Chicago to attend the convention and at the same time participate in Jewish Day. Chicago will be his oly stop while in America, except, of course, for his debarking and embarkation in New York.

Others of international prominence who will be in Chicago for the convention are Morris Rothenberg, national president of the Zionists, and Louis Lipsky.

A committee of Chicago Zionists will be designated next week by Jacob M. Braude, president of the Chicago organization, to welcome the delegates and help make their stay more pleasant.
