Resolutions urging the Jews of the United States to fight for civil rights legislation, to give maximum aid to Israel and to oppose the rearmament of Germany were adopted here last night at the 16th annual convention of the Chicago Division of the American Jewish Congress. The parley was attended by 500 delegates representing various local groups.

“Militarization of Germany, at the present time, however limited and in whatever form, must inevitably mean the revival of the Germany military caste whose thinking and ambitions have twios unloosed on our generation war and destruction unparalleled in all history,” Dr. David W. Petegorsky, national executive director of the American Jewish Congress, told the delegates. The conference was also addressed by Rabbi Israel Goldstein. Rabbi Theodore S. Ross was elected head of the organization for the coming year.
