The Jewish Welfare Fund of Chicago will distribute approximately $4, 000, 000 this year to help Israel finance immigration programs and to meet the costs of care for Jewish needs in other countries, it was announced at the JNF’s annual dinner meeting at the Morrison Hotel. The Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago receives a share of the CJA contributions to help maintain 12 medical and social welfare agencies affiliated with it. The major beneficiary of the Jewish WelfareFund allocation this year was the national United Jewish Appeal which will receive $3.180, 000 in 1957.
