The Jewish community here is expected to raise an estimated $19,500,000 for the regular and Israel Emergency Fund campaign this year, according to Sol S. Weiner, 1972 general chairman of the Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago. Speaking at a closing meeting of the campaign leadership. Weiner said that pledges in hand total $15,800,000, an increase of 20 percent over the pledges in 1971. He projected that the current campaign would bring in an additional $3,700,000 by the year’s end.
