Benjamin Winter, president of the Federation of Polish Jews in America, today urged the organizaton of American Polish Jews under a single banner so that relief work in the interest of world Jews may be facilitated.
Speaking at an organization meeting which seeks to enroll the Polish Jews of Chinago in the American Federation, Mr. Winter said that united world Jewry can become a reality only if this and similar bodies enlist all potential members.
Professor James N. Yard went on record as favoring a boycott of German made products by Americans.
Other speakers said they are behind a movement to organize a permanent district of Chicago’s Polish Jews under supervision by the American Federation which has headquarters in New York. A delegate of every affiliate and an administrative committee of fifteen were elected at the conference.
Funds of the organization are divided between the local budget and the national group. The Chicago chapter of the American Polish Industrial Burean is expected to join the local organization.
The conference adopted a resolultion asking support of the Tydings bill now before the Upper House asking that the American goverment lifts its voice in protest against the Nazi treatment of the Jews.
