Chief of Police Mazewitz, guilty of the pogrom against the Jewish population of Dialistock under the Czaristic regime, was arrested in Nicshni Nowgorod, according to reports which were received here today.
The Chief of Police was recognized by Bialistock Jews who were victims of the pogrom. He will be tried in Nicschni Nowgorod.
It was charged at the time the pogrom occurred, that it was organized by Czarist Government through its local representatives as a means of vengeance against the Jewish participation in the revolutionary movement.
