At the American office of the Universal Yeshivah a cable was received from the dean of the Yeshivah, the chief Rabbi of Palestine, Rabbi A. I. Kook, with an urgent appeal to American Jews to come to the immediate assistance of the Yeshivah.

“The financial condition of the Universal Yeshivah is desperate,” declares the cable. “Dear brethren! from the depth of my heart I implore you : extend a helping hand to the Temple of Torah in Jerusalem ! I wish all contributors a very happy and prosperous New Year.”
