Chief Rabbi Isaac Herzog today demanded at a Session of the Jerusalem subcommittee of the U.N. Conciliation Commission that Jerusalem the incorporated into Israel, He argued that the city was the holiest place to Jews throughout the world and that it was sanctified by Jewish law.
The Chief Rabbi pointed out that while only parts of the city were considered sacred to Moslems and Christians, all of Jerusalem was holy to the Jewish people. He said that Israel was able and ready to safeguard the Holy Places of the three major faiths and that the Jewish state would make these sites accessible to all persons.
