Chief Rabbi Isaac Herzog today joined Rabbi Judah L. Maimon in urging Tel Aviv Chief Rabbi Jacob M. Toledano to withdraw his acceptance of the post of Minister for Religions in the Ben Gurion cabinet. In a letter to Rabbi Toledano, Rabbi Herzog said he could not give his “blessings” on the appointment, which he characterized as “not for the good of religion.”
