Children of Holocaust survivors will have a special all day conference of their own at the World Gathering of Jewish Holocaust Survivors to be held in Israel June 15-18, 1981, Ernest W. Michel, chairman of the executive committee for the gathering, announced today.
Michel, who is executive vice president of the United Jewish Appeal/Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York Joint Campaign, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that a committee has been organized in New York to plan the session and to try to reach “second generation” people throughout the United States. The committee, which has had two meetings with 25 persons attending each, was organized by two married couples, Menachem and Jeannie Rosensaft and Herbert and Dina Zlotogorski, all four of whom are children of survivors.
Meanwhile, Michel reported that there have been inquiries from about 1000 persons in the United States so far about the gathering, which is expected to be the largest meeting of Holocaust survivors ever held. He said there are already 150 paid reservations, a year before the event.
The International Executive Committee for the World Gathering is scheduled to meet this Saturday at Kibbutz Netzer Sereni in Israel.
