Franz Heinz Pfeiffer, a 26-year-old leader of a Chilean neo-Nazi movement, was sentenced to three years in jail yesterday for an attempt in 1958 to set fire to a Jewish club here.
Pfeiffer, who last summer announced that he would lead “a battle against Jews,” had also been indicted for having tried to dynamite a synagogue in Santiago in 1958 at about the same time three other synagogues were attacked. A few months ago, Pfeiffer re-established the Chilean Nazi Workers Party which had flourished during the Second World War.
