Voicing pride in the achievements of a colleague, the 1100-member Conservative rabbinical group in a resolution adopted by its executive council under the presidency of Rabbi Mordecai Waxman, stated that the organization was “especially proud of the efforts you have made to alleviate suffering and to bring about compassionate actions by the government authorities. They are in the tradition of our sages who commanded us to imitate God by pursuing kindness and compassion. Your actions have strengthened the spiritual life of our fellow Jews in Chile. We are proud that a colleague of the Rabbinical Assembly has done so much to further the teachings of our faith in Latin America.”
