“The spirit of Christian charity has been outraged in tyranny’s barbarous treatment of the Jews,” declared Archbishop Edward Mooney of Detroit today, addressing the opening session of the Inter-American Seminar on Social studies sponsored by the National Catholic Welfare Conference.

Archbishop Mooney told the distinguished churchmen, economists, educators and social work leaders gathered here that “if men are to dwell in peace and security, religion must be accorded its rightful place in their individual and social lives.”
