The American Christian Emergency Council for Palestine has presented to Eart Baldwin former British Prime Minister a memorandum urging that he transmit to the British Government the view of “enlightened Christian America” that the Palestine mandate be upheld.
The memorandum signed by Dr. Guy Emery Shipler chairman of the council Charles Edward Russel and Dr. Justin H. Moore expresses “consternation” over Britain’s new Palestine policy which it terms “a virtual denial of the solemn pledges given by various British governments to the Jewish people and to the world.” It was accompanied by a facsimile letter in which Lord Baldwin when Prime Minister in 1936, promised that the Government would fulfill its mandatory obligations.
