Order was restored today in Hungarian universities, including the University of Debreczin, where disturbances have been recurrent in recent weeks.
The Christian student bodies resolved upon the maintenance of peace in order to permit the resumption of classes.
They demanded assurance, however, from the Minister of Education that he would thwart any attempts to modify numberus clausus and that diplomas of Jewish students who graduated abroad would not be recognized. In this way they hope to prevent the Jews who avoid the numerus clausus by going abroad to take up practice of their professions in Hungary.
