Dr. Russell Henry Stafford, minister of the New Old South Church, will preach on Yom Kippur afternoon from the pulpit of Temple Sinai here in what officials at the Temple asserted today will mark the first time that a Christian has been invited to preach to a Jewish congregation on the Day of Atonement. Rabbi Bery1 D. Cohon spiritual leader of Temple Sinai, referred to the invitation as a “venture of unusual significance.”
Dr. Stafford has chosen for his subject “Christian Conscience on the Jewish Day of Atonement.”
