The First Methodist Church has presented a bronze plaque to Rabbi Samuel Gup of Temple Israel as a token of appreciation for the Jewish congregation’s action in granting the Christians use of the synagogue for several months when their church was damaged by fire last Spring. The presentation was made at a service at the reconstructed church building. The plaque will be hung permanently in the corridor of the temple.
