A national study conference of the Federal Council of Churches, representing 23 religious denominations, adopted a resolution yesterday urging churches, “in the presence of growing anti-Semitism, to promote good will and cooperation with our Jewish fellow-citizens.” It also called upon local churches to “give powerful thought and take concrete action in dealing with the cause, consequences and cure of anti-Semitism,” which it termed “a direct challenge to the Christian communities of America.”
