The Evangelical Church Association of Switzerland has approached the country’s Federal Council and the International Red Cross, urging all possible measures to aid the Jews of Hungary, it is reported today by the Neue Zuricher Zeitung.
The paper discloses that a message from the ecclesiastical council of the canton of Zurich attacking the persecution of Hungarian Jewry was read from the pulpits of all churches in the canton on Sunday. The message urges the parishes to offer prayers for “those who are forced to tread such dark paths because they are of a different race.”
