Acting upon a call from the Archbishop, all Catholic churches in Cuba today offered a special mass for the Jews in Europe tortured and massacred by the Nazis. The Archbishop himself received a Jewish delegation and expressed strong condemnation of the Nazi brutalities against Jews.
The entire Cuban press during the past few days has carried vigorous protests against the slaughter of Jews in Europe. The Confederation of Cuban Workers, which has 600,000 members, issued a proclamation condemning the Nazi murderers. A similar proclamation was issued by the Student Federation of the university in Havana Twenty-five radio stations in Cuba carried special broadcasts during the week-end describing the Nazi atrocities against Jews and calling on the population to support the Jewish demands for reprisals.
