Faith in the future of the Jewish National Home in Palestine was expressed here yesterday at a mass meeting of Jews held to mark the first anniversary of last year’s riots in Palestine. The meeting was presided over by Hirsch Manischevitz and the speakers were Rabbi Judah Levenberg of New Haven and Ezra Shapiro, president of the Cleveland Zionist district.

Rabbi Levenberg recalled that the riots of last Summer marked a glorious page in Jewish history since for the first time in 1800 years Jewish blood was spilled for a genuine Jewish cause. “For centuries our people have gone to war for nations of their adoption but last year they gave up their lives for Zion,” he said.

Mr. Shapiro declared that Chief Rabbi Kook of Palestine had assured him that eventually the British government would carry out the Balfour Declaration.
