Picketing and boycott by former partisans and organizations of Nazi victims in Israel have forced cinema owners to agree to call off the importation of further German-language films for exhibition here.
However, the cinema owners association is continuing negotiations with the picketing group to permit showing of those films which have already been brought into Israel. Many of these were brought here by immigrants who used this means of transferring capital which otherwise they would have been forced to abandon when they emigrated.
