City Council Urges Intercession

The City Council today unanimously adopted a resolution urging President Roosevelt and Secretary Hull to make representations to Britain to continue implementing the Jewish homeland policy. Latest Jewish appeals on Palestine were from the Central Conference of American rabbis, an emergency meeting of Jewish women’s organizations called by Hadassah, Free Sons of Israel, United Galician Jews of America and Jewish National Workers’ Alliance.

Rochester Jewish organizations appealed to the Government for intercession. Some 2,000 Hebrew school children in New England wrote letters to Washington, it was announced by Young Judea in Boston. The American Jewish Congress called a rally in Carnegie Hall for Sunday evening.
