City of Munich Agrees to Pay Restitution for Jewish Property

After negotiations which lasted for about six months, an agreement was reached here between the Jewish Restitution Successor Organization and the City of Munich by which the city will pay 210,000 German marks to cover restitution claims on 13 former Jewish properties.

The Bavarian Party today announced the withdrawal of its motion in the Bavarian state parliament calling for the prohibition of Shechita, Jewish ritual slaughter.
