Equal rights for Jews in all countries of the world and the establishment of a Jewish National Home in Palestine were demanded today at the closing session of the fourteenth biennial congress of the Board of Deputies of South African Jews.
The delegates at the closing meeting voted to launch a war appeal for relief of Jews overseas. Cecil Lyons, formerly chairman of the executive board of the Deputies, was elected president, succeeding Gerald Lazarus.
