The Fair Employment Board of the Civil Service Commission today ordered all government agencies to end religious and racial discrimination in Federal employment and issued instructions to carry out this policy.
Government agencies must now afford any worker who feels he is being discriminated against, “a full opportunity to present his case.” The order supplements president Truman’s ban on discrimination in civil service announced last July. All agencies are reminded in the Board’s order that the “basic principle of the American reed is equality of opportunity.”
