The Canadian Jewish Congress (CJC) is in the forefront of a campaign to combat increased Ku Klux Klan activities in Canada.
A new organization, the Federation for Religious Racial and Ethnic Equality (FREE), to Fight the growing menace of the KKK, has been formed recently and has a membership of some 130 organizations in the province of Nova Scotia. Ben Prossin, vice president of the CJC, is one of the six member steering committee of FREE.
FREE includes most of the Church denominations in Canada and various ethnic associations such as the black community, and many general community groups, service organizations and representatives of the labor movement.
