A memorandum enumerating cases of infraction of Jewish rights in Palestine and requiring a radical change in the present Government policy has been submitted by the Council of Palestine Jews to Sir Herbert Samuel. These representations on behalf of the Jewish inhabitants of Palestine follow somewhat similar criticism submitted by Lieut. Colonel Kish on behalf of the Zionist Executive during Dr. Weizmann’s recent visit to Palestine. The principal Jewish grievance is that activities of an indisputable public character are regarded by the Government as private enterprises, and it is charged that education, medical and sanitation work, maintained out of Zionist funds, are receiving no aid from the Government despite the fact that it is claimed that the Jews contribute about 30% of the taxes.
