Two heavily armed terrorists were killed Saturday in an encounter with an Israel Defense Force patrol in southern Lebanon.
There were no casualties among the Israelis, who had been on a routine patrol north of Hasbaya, in the eastern sector of the border security zone.
Rifles and grenades were found on the bodies of the slain terrorists.
The clash occurred a day after two IDF soldiers and four members of the Israeli-backed South Lebanon Army were wounded by an explosion as their convoy passed along a road north of Marjayoun, in the central sector of the security zone.
The Israelis were only lightly injured and continued their mission, but two of the Lebanese were seriously hurt. One was reported Sunday in critical condition in Haifa’s Rambam Hospital.
