Heavy rifle and machine gun fire and the explosion of grenades was heard last night at Gadot settlement not far from the Syrian border. The sounds of strife were heard from Syrian troop positions northeast of the settlement.
Radio Damascus claimed last night that an Israeli patrol had penetrated Syrian territory in that general area but had been repulsed by heavy fire. One Syrian soldier was alleged to have been wounded.
