The determination of Cleveland’s Jewry to repel what it considers an infringement upon orthodoxy was revealed yesterday and Saturday at two meetings called to protest against Swift & Company’s appeal for a permanent injunction against the kashruth board and the rabbis’ union to prevent them from informing the Jews that Swift & Co.’s meat is koshered by unsupervised slaughterers.
A number of rabbis from Cleveland and other cities spoke, and resolutions were adopted protesting against Swift & company, and calling upon the Jews to fight to the limit. The Union of Orthodox Rabbis wired a promise of aid.
