The presence of Henry Ford’s book, “The International Jew” in the library of Cleveland public schools, against which Alfred A. Benesch a member of the Board of Education protested, was taken up at a meeting of the educational committee of the School Board.
It was stated at the meeting, in the nature of a preliminary expalnation, that the copy of the book was brought to a teacher by a Jewish girl, a pupil of the Longworth High School, as an example of the “awful nasty stuff” that is sent out about the Jews. As verification of this incident could not be carried out while the teacher was on vacation, the matter was postponed until the opening of the semester.
