The 100th anniversary celebration of the Euclid Avenue Temple, Cleveland’s oldest Jewish institution, will begin Friday with the rededication of the synagogue by twelve descendants of original members of the congregation.
The three-day celebration will feature the unveiling of a plaque honoring the 826 members of the congregation who served in the armed forces during the war, including 21 who died in service. The congregation which began in 1846 with 20 members has grown to include more than 1,700 families. Rabbi Barnett Brickner is spiritual leader of the congregation.
