Almost 2,500,000 pounds of used clothing collected in the churches and synagogues of America have either been shipped or are scheduled for early shipment from this country to the men, women and children of Western Europe, Herbert H. Lehman, Director General of UNRRA announced today. Some nine million pounds of usable clothing are scheduled for shipment to Poland, Italy, Czechoslovakia, the Balkan countries and to UNRRA refuges confers in North Africa, he stated.
