Col. Herbert H. Lehman, Licutenant-Governor-Elect of New York, has accepted the chairmanship of the next annual dinner of the Jewish Education Association which will be held December 9th at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. This will be the Seventh Annual Dinner of the Association.
The dinner this year, Bernard Semel, honorary secretary, stated, will be tendered to the Committee of One Hundred, of which Jacob Wener is the chairman, in recognition of their services in raising the funds to cover the budget of the Association. Col. Lehman, Mr. Semel added, has been interested in the work of the Jewish Education Association since its organization, and has been a generous coutributor to its funds.
A special cutertaimnent for children in the Jewish religious schools was held Sunday morning at the Amphion Theatre. Benny Leonard, former light weight champion of the world, was the main speaker.
The entertainment was arranged by the Jewish Education Association, of which Israel Unterberg is president, with the participation of the following Jewish religous schools: School of the Congregation Ezrath Israel of West 47th Street, West Side Hebrew School of West 34th Street and the Talmud Torah Emunath Israel of West 23rd Street.
