Collective Fine Imposed on Jerusalem Suburb for Attempt on High Commissioner’s Life

The Palestine authorities today imposed a fine of $2,000 on Givat Shaul, the Jerusalem suburb near which the recent attempt was made on the life of the retiring High Commissioner Sir Harold MacMichael. The High Commissioner was on his way from Jerusalem to Jaffa at the time.

The Jewish terrorist or the so-called “Stern Group” which is composed of extremist youths, today posted an announcement over the walls of buildings in Jerusalem stating that it was their organization which carried out the attack on the High Commissioner and his escorting party. None of the assailants have been identified.
