The College de France has joined universities in England, the United States and other countries in rejecting an invitation to participate in the bicentenary celebrations of Goettingen University, Germany, scheduled for June 30.
It was reported the French Academy may also refuse to attend. The Sorbonne has not yet made known its decision on the invitation.
