The names of the members of Parliament appointed to serve on the Commission of Inquiry under the chairmanship of Sir Walter Shaw were announced today by the Colonial Office. They are Sir Henry Betterton, Conservative, R. Hopkin Morris, Liberal, Henry Snell, Laborite. T. I. K. Lloyd of the Colonial Office will serve as secretary to the Commission.

In a statement accompanying the announcement, the Colonial Office declares that the tasks of the Commission are “to inquire into the immediate causes which led to the recent outbreaks in Palestine and to make recommendations as to the steps necessary to avoid recurrences.

“While the date of the commission’s departure has not been definitely fixed, it is hoped it will sail toward the end of this month or early in October.”
