A Colonial Office spokesman today categorically denied Jerusalem runners that the Palestine immigration quota for Jews will be increased to 2,500 monthly.
Unofficially, government quarters hold out no hope for an increase in the quota, pointing out that the teaser of Foreign Minister Bevin’s statements indicate that the immigration figure will remain fixed until action by the U.N. on Palestine.
